CHARLOTTE
BREWER

Rig contractor and certified welder who moved into pipeline design after years on the tools — I plan and build the systems I used to weld together.

About

I started welding while most people my age were still figuring out what they wanted to do — working rigs up and down whichever coastline I happened to land near. Pipeline design came later, a way to stay close to the trade while giving my body a break from the overtime.

Three places shaped how I work: Bavel, a small village outside Breda in the Netherlands, where I was born; Mississippi, where I learned the trade; and Virginia, where I'm based today. Each move meant starting over with a new crew and a new set of codes to learn — it's made me faster at reading a jobsite.
